Currently, Betty Marie is directing Pippin with TUTS Education and will be the Assistant Director of Newsies in TUTS’ Main Stage season at the Hobby Center.
Most recently, Betty Marie directed Urinetown and 9 to 5 at Stageworks Theatre, SpongeBob the Musical with TUTS, and was the Associate Director/Female Swing of Cinderella at Theatre Under the Stars.
Betty Marie was the assistant director to Tony Nominated Director and Artistic Director of TUTS, Dan Knechtges, in Theatre Under the Stars’ latest production of The Little Mermaid and then assistant directed on Into the Woods, under the direction of Laura Peete. She made her directing debut with Bring It On at TUTS. Betty Marie led a 90-person company and created a full-blown production in two weeks, alongside a killer creative team, and well over 100 people working on the production.
